POWER CHORDS INTRO
Here are some common chord progressions, using 'power' chords. A 'power' chord can be played on any fret. Your first finger is always the root note of the chord, unless you're playing an open string power chord (EXAMPLE: an A power chord, played with the open A string and the first finger on the second fret of the D string.)
Once you are comfortable with the power chord positioning, work on going up the fretboard (in a chromatic scale) with the power chords (Stave 5.) You can also do this exercise backwards! In fact, I reccommend doing it both ways.
